NATURAL BODY DETOX METHODS
Getting into a detoxification program involves more than just simply buying some detoxification products and using them. In order to get the most out of your quest to gain a healthy and clean body inside out, it is highly advisable to first get a health history evaluation done by a physician or a nutritionist that is certified and knowledgeable about detoxification programs. This evaluation would often include a physical examination, medical tests, a look into your existing diet, existing medical conditions and the like.
Through this health evaluation, the physician or nutritionist would be able to provide you with a detoxification program that would best suit your needs, lifestyle and overall health status. These programs may include a combination of the following methods:
Change in Diet
The diet plan that would be provided would ensure that your body still gets all the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy, cure certain conditions such as fatigue, improve the function of the various organs in your body and allow your body to flush out unwanted toxins in the body. Some diet plans would also include periods of about three days where you may be required to fast. This would prevent the body from taking in more toxins while your body is still in the process of eliminating existing toxins, waste materials and other harmful chemicals in your body.
For example, if your physician or nutritionist has determined based on your evaluation that you are prone to episodes of stress resulting from frequent traveling and tend to eat a variety of different foods, he or she might prescribe you to switch to a light diet which is low in protein and high in carbohydrates and vegetables as well as to include more fresh fruit juices in your diet.
Use of Natural Herbs
Natural herbs have been known to flush out the toxins situated in specific organs in our bodies such as our colon and liver. Since these organs’ primary functions are used to flush out toxins, these organs are also the most prone to the harmful effects of toxins and waste materials such as the eventual lowering of the organ’s ability to successfully flush out toxins from the body over the course of time. This is usually prescribed if after your health evaluation, your physician has determined that your colon, liver or kidney would need extra cleansing treatments. Some of the common herbs that are prescribed for colon cleansing are psyllium seed husk which may be taken in on its own or used along with betonite clay, acidophilus culture and aloe vera powder. Diluted coffee, and herbal enemas may be prescribed for thorough liver cleansing.
Exercise
Regular exercise has long been considered to be helpful to our bodies. It increases our metabolism and improves our bodies’ endurance and stamina. Regular exercise has also proven to be extremely beneficial as you get into your detoxification program. As we exercise, our body releases sweat through the pores of our skin. Sweat flushes out waste materials and toxins that are also found in our body. Because exercise causes other parts of our body to release chemicals and toxins as a result of various bodily processes, your physician may also prescribe you to take some fluids that are rich in anti-oxidant particles and natural vitamin supplements after you exercise.
Sauna Treatments
Just like exercise, spending a few minutes in the sauna helps our bodies get rid of various toxins and waste materials in our body as it produces sweat which is then released through the pores of our skin. Since the toxins may stay on your skin as your sweat evaporates, it is highly recommended to take a warm bath to thoroughly rid your body of toxins and waste materials that have been expelled from our bodies.
Massage Treatments
Not only does a massage relieve your body from stress and tension, it also stimulates various bodily functions and even helps various organs of our body to eliminate unwanted toxins and waste materials from our bodies.
Relax and Sleep
Stress brought about by unhealthy sleeping patterns can cause the body to produce toxins and waste materials as well. Getting enough rest allows our bodies to relax and rejuvenate itself and ensures that our body does not add to the amount of toxins that our organs currently have to eliminate from our systems.
